Easter Country Fair - West Coast Events

Here are a few images of the flowers I created for the Country Fair organised by Kate of Calico Kate and  Sara of West Coast Living ....innovative and productive girls. We all had a great time and had a very positive response from those who passed through. Thank you one and all for your kind comments, flowers sold and new weddings booked! What a lovely and unexpected surprise! I have since created a little pot of loveliness to welcome a lady coming home from hospital. What sweet family and friend she has. It was a joy to meet them at the fair.

Working as a floral designer offers you a unique window into other people's lives at times of great joy and times of sadness. When people are lost for words, flowers have a language all of their own. It is a tremendous privilege and honour to share in these intimate moments of other lives; for weddings, creating a simple posy for a friend, or for times of sadness, to be able to create something beautiful that expresses how they feel. To encapsulate the personality of a bride through her choice of flowers speaking of who she is and thus creating a truly bespoke wedding is what a good and sensitive designer is all about.

This last image is of Craig and Emma Bellingham's artwork stand at the Country Fair. Emma - who goes under the name of Emma Belle Art, as well as Awesome Sauce with Louise Donachie - and Craig (Kid Kitsune) produce some fantastic work. Emma is my step-daughter and both she and Craig are very talented young artists and proved to be a hit at the Easter Country Fair.

The images of the flowers on this post are taken by George John Stewart of By George! Photography. Bill Baillie, who photographed and encapsulated the essence of the fair also took some lovely shots of my flowers and other exhibitors at the fair. There will be a Summer Country Fair at the same location on 22nd and 23rd June 2013.

Hope you enjoy looking at all these spring blooms. I enjoyed creating them . Gill x
