Veeann & Phil at Lunga House

Late last summer I had the pleasure of creating the wedding flowers for Veeann and her fiance Phil at Lunga House in Argyll.
Veeann was looking for vibrant shades of red and blue, with an exuberant, natural, freshly-picked styling.
Veeann was thrilled with her flowers, and hopefully these photographs give a flavour of the look we were trying to achieve.

Photography is by George John Stewart, except the final image, which is courtesy of Julie Williamson.

Something Old, Something New ...

I have not been posting on this blog for a while now for two reasons. Firstly, I have been very busy with weddings and secondly, my husband and I have taken the decision to move to Ireland.
Although I have been creating flower designs for more than 20 years, my concentration on designs for weddings began only 5 years ago. Since then I have averaged a wedding/event per week. Not that I intend to stop with the new location - far from it - but it is a time to pause and consider how I would like Flowerscape to grow. I have new and vital inspiration in the Irish countryside; in the Wicklow Hills that I can see from the garden, and in the lanes and hedgerows; the profusion of thorn tree blossom across the landscape at the moment, and in the beautiful cadences in the Irish voices I hear when out walking.
Of course, I have an abiding passion still for the wildness and the special light, landscape and air of Argyll. That will live on in memory, refreshed I am sure by return visits from time to time, but it is always in the present moment that inspiration comes; and from those people and things that surround us and which we hold dear.
And, while in reflective mood, I have been looking over the many weddings with which I have had the privilege of being involved; as well as the wonderful couples, who have been a joy to know at that special and exciting time in their lives. One of the first to spring to mind was created for an American couple, marrying in Scotland and looking for an unrestrained profusion of blooms and greenery.
This wedding was a joy to complete and hopefully these photographs capture some of the flavour and colour of the occasion. The bride was very pleased with her flowers, and it is that above all that pleases me.

Hayleigh & Kevin at Crieff Hydro

Hayleigh and Kevin both come from Argyll, but had their wedding and reception at Crieff Hydro.

This was one of the loveliest summer weddings of last year. It was so nice to create flowers for a local wedding although the flowers had to travel to Crieff on the hottest day of the year and it was a blistering summer! As you will see, the flowers travelled safely and helped complete a fabulous day.
The first bouquet completed.
Mark, a very proud Dad and my wonderful hairdresser.
The girls all look so pretty!
Hayleigh chose a palette of dusky pinks, lilacs, deep purple and silvery green foliage.
The colours enhanced her hair colouring beautifully.
Beautiful bride looking so happy.

A soft romantic mix of beautiful blooms ...roses, hydrangeas, freesias, veronica, peonies and clematis.

The happy couple :-)
Gorgeous girls!
One of my favourite photographs ...so sweet.
Three lovely ladies ...fantastic dresses.
Such a gorgeous summer wedding. Don't they look lovely!
Proud parents looking fabulous! We chose Vanda orchids for the corsage and buttonhole.
Great wedding colours.
Thank you Hayleigh and Kevin for choosing me to create your flowers. I so enjoyed creating them. It was a pleasure.

Photographs of Hayleigh's wedding were supplied by Hayleigh Erin Clark. All others were by George John Stewart.
