'Flowerscape' Tea on the Lawn at Lovely LUNGA HOUSE

Welcome to lovely Lunga House. Don't you just love the beautiful blues? Come and enjoy our tea party on the lawn and feel the sunshine of a lovely August day.
A sweet little bee on a pretty pink Gerbera...
 Love this dimension...
No flowers or cake yet, but so loved this photograph (below), I had to include it. Reminds me of an Elizabeth Blackadder painting. My husband George had the wonderful opportunity of visiting her studio and her late husband's (John Houston) too, whilst studying at Edinburgh College of Art. Both have been hugely inspiring artists to us.
Don't you just love this Gloriosa... the hot pink makes your heart sing! Alongside my Grandmother's sugar dredger... reminds me of my childhood days when she would offer us hot buttered cinnamon toast... oh, the liberty of the sprinkle!
Part of my collection of lovely old chemists bottles amongst others. Roses, Gerberas and Gloriosa randomly placed.
The table set and cakes ready to be eaten , and eaten they were... delicious... 'Have your cake and eat it' by Aunty Janes Cakes. An alternative choice to the traditional wedding cake.
Oh so good :))
A flower trifle for a bit of quirky fun.
Love the light on the glass and the rich jewel red of the jelly. Beautiful berries and buns.
Summer fun in old tea pots.
Lovely Lunga . A perfect choice for your wedding, or any special celebration where you want to gather family and friends and retreat into another world for a couple of days and enjoy a truly magical stay. You won't want to go home, and will be sure to return.
Flower trifles with old ice cream sundae glasses filled with marshmallows and M&M's and topped with a Gerbera head.
Pretty pinks and purples in blue and white china. Love the little heart shaped shortbreads. These can be customised with your initials or wedding date or whatever you please. Share your ideas with us please.

'Flowerscape' at LUNGA HOUSE Open Day... Little Castle Big Heart

Welcome to Lunga's first Open Day, and Flowerscape's floral designs created by Gill Stewart for the occasion. A big thank you to Lunga House for inviting me to create the flowers for this lovely day and choosing me as their dedicated florist. In Julie's words 'Gill has a real feel for the house'.
Mid-day was doors open and already wonderful things happening by 12.30. Congratulations to all forthcoming wedding couples. You will receive a big heartfelt welcome from the lovely staff who will look after you to ensure you have the most fabulous of weddings. Winter is particularly beautiful for a Lunga wedding. Crackling fires and  sparkling candlelight all help to create a warm and cosy atmosphere for you and your guests to enjoy and relax in .....leaving the world behind for a liitle moment. You won't want to leave!
Lunga truly is a 'Little Castle With A Big Heart'. It offers an intimate charm and perfect choice for your wedding . You have exclusive use for two or three days to enjoy this wonderful little castle and stunning surrounding scenery with some of the most fabulous views looking toward the Inner Hebrides. Ben More on Mull looked extremely clear and beautiful yesterday. The sea sparkled and yachts bobbed on the water.
Some simple little arrangements dotted along the Top Table. Flowers used were Cymbidium Orchids , 'Grand Prix' roses and 'Sweet Avalanche'.
For a sense of drama why not choose one of Lunga's candelabras. These look wonderful in the Ballroom, but would look equally special in the dining room where you might choose to have your ceremony. This candelabra has been elaborately decorated but could also be designed using less expensive blooms to the same effect.
Look out for our new design for October's Open weekend, where we will be focusing on an Autumnal theme using fruits and nuts integrated with beautiful blooms and forages from the surrounding countryside.
Beautiful blooms...
Pretty light...
A bit of fun! A handbag made out of flowers with a red rose and sparkly heart for the clasp.
I love the contrast of colours and textures of the waxy Orchid and soft velvet gentleness of the rose.
Pretty little painted slipper sitting in the heart of the Orchid; you might see a little fairy sleeping in there if you look closely enough.
Rose and heart garland along the Top Table.
Wee Ted is there to give you a big welcome and sure to make you smile.
Love the the light sparkles of the chandelier and reflected light from the mirror.
Top Table in the Ballroom where you can see all your guests and they can see you. I love the slightly raised platform in the Bay window . It distinguishes the Bridal table from the guest tables creating a kind of magic and sense of anticipation of some wonderful festivity and celebration about to take place.
Simply beautiful!
'Have your cake and eat it ' by auntyjanescakes@gmail.com. Some delicious cakes baked by Jane for the occasion. Perfect baking if you want to create an Afternoon Tea, or simply a more relaxed feel than a traditional wedding cake. You can have a variety of cakes to suit some of your guests particular fancies.
Some to die for are Jane's carrot cake . I have known people to fight over the last piece! The most wonderful coffee and walnut cake, rich moist chocolate for all you chocolate lovers out there, and a variety of darling little cupcakes and old fashioned fairy cakes. Look out for my next blog where I will be featuring an Afternoon Tea Party photo shoot at Lunga, lots of lovely cakes and flowers created in a fun way .....and the sun shone brightly all day ! I will post some blue sky photographs just to prove it and to encourage next summers brides , that the sun really does shine in bonny Scotland
Just one of the lovely bedrooms for you to choose from.
These meringues were heavenly! Have a lovely weekend and look forward to bringing you some more beautiful flowers very soon, Gillx
