Creative 'Flowerscape' at PORTAVADIE MARINA

Water inspired floral-scape, perfect for the Marina's contempory clean lines and nautical feel.

Created using a glass tank, ice gel redolent of bubbling water. Shells sunk to suggest movement... ripples of the ebb and flow of the tide. Finished with pops of icy white Hydrangeas suspended as if floating at sea level.
Decided to place small still lifes using flowers, shells and sand under glass to help create an organic feel, just  as you would find in specimen jars. It helps focus the eye and encourages you to study the design...a story under glass.
A huge sweetie jar filled with tiny shells , a fabulous Australian shell and an amazing green Hydrangea tinged with a hint of raspberry.....fun and quirky !
A table decoration by Robbie , one of the wedding team at Portavadie. Robbie has used an interesting storm lantern and filled it with local pebbles and a church candle . He has finished it off with some netting  and locally gathered ferns.

  1. The ice white hydrangeas and suspended shells are def my favourites, though the green ones come a close second. Truly beautiful Gill.
