Nikki and Malcolm's Portavadie Marina Wedding

Table ... Yacht decorations
On the beautiful shores of Loch Fyne you will find a palace dedicated to yachting and leisure at Portavadie Marina. Directly opposite the lovely and historic village of Tarbert in Kintyre, a short ferry crossing brings you to a breath-taking setting.
The mountainous northern end of the Isle of Arran, as seen from the Tarbert to Portavadie Ferry.
Portavadie can be reached by road also, but there is a special excitement about arriving at your destination by sea. The city of Venice rising from the Adriatic reveals its romance and glamour more readily than does the landward approach.
Nikki and Malcolm held their wedding at Portavadie Marina in early Summer 2012. The day was hot and sun-drenched - as can often be the case at that time of year in the West Highlands.
I hoped the flags would spell out something like
"Scotland expects that the groom this day shall wed his bride."
Gill's marvellous floral decoration on Nikki & Malcolm's yacht proved just perfect.
Plenty of witnesses for the occasion.

Bride's bouquet

This handsome young man was clearly enjoying the day.

Caroline Stewart, an Interfaith minister performed the ceremony on board Destination Anywhere.

'Now we are wed, and joy and happiness abound'

Let the festivities commence...
